What I wore today!

Howdy!

The weather is shocking however I still wanted to feel summery so I I decided to wear my cream lace dress! This is one of my favourite dresses , it can work throughout summer and winter. Luckily I found it in a charity shop in the Isle of Wight for only £2!!! I later realised that it was from the popular Warehouse store.

Today I have teamed this dress with my gorgeous red patient lace up boots , my vintage necklace and black tights.  As you can tell by my facial expression I wasn't impressed with the weather!

Immie's Sunday's face!

Yo yo yo!

It's normally Amy's posting her 'Friday faces' however I am taking a plunge and posting my Sunday face for a meal in the countryside with the fam!

Bobbi Brown in an absolute hero of mine and has to be my favorite make up artist! Her brushes last for a life time and work miracles. I highly recommend the
Foundation and face blender blusher brushes for everyday use.

The make-up that I have used:

 Mac: eyeliner (fabulous)
Laura Mercier: bronzer
Garnier Miracle skin perfecter foundation
 Mac: bronzer
Ruby and Millie: eye-shadow  Aldi Lacura: mascara
which is cheap and certainly cheerful!

Some little things I have purchased recently...

Being a lover of old, bric a brac, vintage pieces or anything in between. I enjoy a good old rummage at Carboot Sales, Antique showrooms, Charity shops and Vintage fairs and you could say this week I went a little "overboard..."

This is what I purchased... all for a cheap prices, I might add!

The gold circle ring shown above is actually a not a ring and is intended to be a scarf pin. The small silver ring shows my star sign is Virgo. So for 50 pence I cound't say no. The blue stone ring with gun metal hardware was bought by my mum for me for a pound..The small dark grey one with the hexagon detail was 50 pence. The two necklaces on the black cords are from a good old carboot sale, priced at a pound I had to take the Anglo Saxan cross and the Zodiac symbol of their hands... The pixie pendant was a two pound from an Antique showroom also from my mum.. the seller wanted 5 pounds for it, lucky my mum reduced the price. The feather headband was a gift from my mum, I believe my mum payed around 5 pounds for it.

The floral waistcoat was bought at Car Boot Sale for only a pound. I was with Immie at the time and she later found out it was made in the USA.. what a bonus eh? The bag shown is handmade by the seller I bought it from,I got with another item for an extremly cheap price. I think It will look perfect with a pair of doc martens and a floral dress. The red printed dress was only 70 pence and it had the price tag attached too... a bonus I think!! The brown Jacket shown above was 5 pounds from a Charity shop-  I love its bomber style and the crazy print on the back it... I think it will look perfect with a basic tee and shorts.

The small leather bag, with gold detailing was from a carboot sale for only a pound- Its fab over the shoulder. The denim dunagrees are not thrifted as such- but they look like a vintage puchase. They are from River Island, I metioned them in my recent wishlist.. they are the classic shorts and are comfortable indeed. I am sure that Immie and myself will do a series of outfit post with dungarees as Immie has light wash pair and I have a dark wash pair- the idea comparsion. Ha! So when Immie returns from france It. Will. Happen.

Oh and the hawaiian shirt is just... unexplainable.

So thats all dolls,

Hope you venture into your local antique showrooms and carboot fairs.

This week I'm loving....

Well hello there bloggers, it's Amy again!!!

A sneaky extra photo from my previous Friday's face.... Its relevant to the post though- YAY!
Its currently early in the evening and I thought what better way to fill my time than compose another post. Their are so many things I have been loving this week, it was hard to narrow it done to one thing;. But I think I found it....

This week I'm loving..

"Bright Pink lipstick"

If you haven't guesses already, I cannot leave the house without a spot of lipstick. Its like it is part of my identity... I especially love sporting a vibrant colour, as I like the fact it makes me stand out from all those around me. This colour in particular clashes with my hair also making it pop even more. If you saw my last post- My Friday's Face, I was actually wearing this colour in the picture.

My favourite lipstick in paprticular is the "Barry M" lipstick in shade number 52 (I don't think they have names on the packaging) I believe the colour is called "Shocking Pink" and the pigmentation of the product really lives up to the name- ha! The lipsticks retail for £4:50 each, which I think is extremly reasonable in comparasion to other brands out there. I can guarantee I will be buying more soon.

Thanks Dolls,

Amy xx

Amy's Tuesday Wishlist

Hello Dolls,

Once again I am extremly late with my weekly Wishlist.... But I'd thought I would still shown you my what I have still be lusting over. If you saw my post last week, showcasing my love of "Dungarees, Flatforms and Lace dresses" you might like to know that I actuslly purchased a pair of dungarees in the summer sales and even a pair of black flatform "style" wedges... YAY for me. Lets hope I manage to purchase some of the things I have been desiring this week!!

I have been obsessing over...

1. Floral Headbands and Garlands

OH MY... I cannot express my love for these enough... whether the flowers are big or small, in a headband or cown form I NEED SOME. Its quite sad really as I have numerous floral headbands, but i just feel the need to own more. Especially it being festival season, all the coverage of T in the Park and Latitude makes me so jealous. The picture of myself above shows me wearing the first floral garland I ever bought.. Glastonbury 2009, so long ago. It reminds me when I saw Florence and The Machine in a tiny tent for the first time- And her and I were both wearing flowers in our hair.. I sound really sad don't I?

Anyway...  I love wearing flowers in my hair...so what better way to fuel my addiction with a few more statement pieces!!

(All headbands/Crowns are from a selection at Topshop)

2. Cutout dresses

Once again, my wishlist always seems to feature some form of dress.. I think it because I'm quite a feminine person to some extent- It is extremly rare to see me in a pair of trousers. This week, I love the cutout detail I have been seeing.. it sort of has conntations of an edgy feel, which I like indeed!! I especially like the shoulder cutout featured on all the images above, as it looks very vintage inspired and unqiue.

(All dresses shown are from a selection at Topshop, like everything is this week)

3. All things Tie Dye

I am loving anything tie dye at the moment, whether its a dress, maxi, shorts or a skirt. Whenever I see any form of tie dye it always puts a smile on my face.. it screams summer, which is desperatley needed in England at the moment. I think tie dye will be perfect for festivals too!! I've seen tie dye dresses and t-shirts in so many places from primark to the salvation army- ha!! I must purchase some pieces soon.

(All tie dye items shown are from topshop- once again)

Thanks Dolls,

Amy xx

Favourite band of the moment #2

Hello Dolls...

Immie has sadly left me for 15 days to travel all around france, (pulls a very upset face as Amy was not invited she is going to be without her blogging bff) So she will not be posting for a while.. SO ITS ALL LEFT TO ME TO KEEP THIS BLOG AFLOAT!!

I thought I'd let you feast your eyes on another band of mine, to keep you occupied, due to immie's abense, haha.. So this week my band is,
 DOG IS DEAD!!!!!

They really have been a band I cannot stop listening to this week, I have not recently discovered them. In fact, I've known about them for nearly two years... I have just fallen in love with them all over again. Although they are yet to release an album, although I believe their debut "All our favourite stories" will hit our stores in the late sunmmer (I think). They DO have an ep which is called "Your Childhood" containing four beatuiful tracks... I can't contain my love for these boys. Dog is dead are an all male band from Nottingham consisting of- Rob, Paul, Trev, Joss and Harvey- who are all very nice indeed.

I actually saw them in a tiny venue in February...

Make sure you like them on facebook, follow them on twitter and youtube as they are always at festivals, on tour and they are always organising free eps!!

So jump on the band wagan guys!! Give them a listen...

Thanks dolls
